Words of Mouth
The professional staff at Larson Design Group has assisted our county with at least six bridge replacement projects over the past ten years. Their performance, reliability and customer support are the reasons why we hired them for our next bridge replacement project. I have the utmost confidence in their overall approach in assisting counties and local municipalities with bridge design.

Description
The Ralston Flood Mitigation Project aimed to serve two purposes:
- To replace County Bridge No. 105 which was destroyed in the January 1996 flood.
- To reduce future flood damage caused by Lycoming Creek.
The design storm was the January 1996 flood. The flood
mitigation project has four major components as follows:
- To construct an earthen berm from the Rock Run Road bridge up the west bank of Lycoming Creek and then along the south bank of Red Run
- To widen the channel of Lycoming Creek from about 1,100’ south of the location of the formerly existing county bridge up to about 300’ north of the Rock Run Road bridge. This widening will include an elevated flood plain that is to be constructed adjacent to the low flow channel
- To construct earth fill at selected locations along Lycoming Creek to increase the height of the channel bank and keep the water in the channel
- To remove the existing railroad bridge over Lycoming Creek that serves South Ralston
