Description

Memorial Park is the largest and most utilized of the nine parks in the City of Williamsport. It is a regional park and home of the historic Bowman Field and professional baseball team, historic original Little League, the Elm Park softball complex, a municipal pool, and other recreational facilities.

Larson Design Group provided services for the playground’s renovation, including site design, storm water improvements, construction drawings and bidding documents, financial analysis of development costs, and landscape architecture. This work was structured for use in grant applications.

The renovation included new playground equipment, a poured-in-place seamless rubber safety surface, accessible parking spaces and improvements to the Little League monument, located at the site of the origin of Little League Baseball. Landscape Structures, Inc. designed the playground equipment to comply with safety standards and the ADA. The project was designed to be accessible to all children.
