Words of Mouth
We're still getting 'oohs' and 'aahs' from those coming in for the first time. Not only was our building design beautiful, you spent that extra time to make a reality of our dream for an interior that people would love. At the beginning of our process together, I never imagined we would have something so exquisite, but you brought it all together.

12 Mile Road Bridge Over Young Womans Creek
Location
Susquehannock State Forest, Stewardson Township, Potter County
Project Type
Bridge Replacement, Precast Arch
Construction Cost
$308,000
Owner
Susquehannock State Forest
Description
The project involved the replacement of a deteriorated and substandard existing structure. A primary reason that the precast arch was chosen was because it resulted in the shortest road closure duration. The existing bridge was removed, and the new bridge constructed in half the time of a conventional beam bridge. Additionally, the arch was more advantageous than a precast box culvert, because bedrock was present at streambed, and excavation of the bedrock streambed in this wild trout stream was undesirable. The project utilized architectural surface treatment on the arch spandrel walls and precast wingwalls to resemble a natural stone masonry structure and weathering steel guiderail was chosen to blend into the forest environment.
LDG performed complete design and construction consultation services including structural, hydraulic, and highway design, as well as field survey, shop drawing review, and initial safety inspection of the completed bridge.
The project provides improved access to the State Forest for both public recreation, as well as Natural Gas utility vehicles.
