Construction Inspection
Construction Inspection Services
Seeing it Through
Larson Design Group (LDG) offers a wide range of construction services for clients during the construction phase of a project. Our staff has a vast knowledge of construction methodology and engineering concepts. Our inspection staff monitors the daily activities of a contractor to assure our client that construction work is performed to contract specifications and established industry standards. The inspection review provides further protection to the client against defects and deficiencies in the work. All of our resident inspection personnel are trained and certified in current construction practices.

LDG has successfully monitored transportation, water, wastewater, recreational, commercial, and industrial construction projects. The projects have ranged in complexity from a one-person project that lasts a day to an entire inspection team monitoring a project that spreads several years, such as a major river crossing.

LDG is a multi-discipline company. We have design and construction expertise for bridge, roadway, land development, recreational, stream restoration, water, wastewater, building, electrical, and mechanical projects. Our team can provide quick and relevant information to the inspection staff, thereby allowing them to make a timely and correct decision.

Whether or not to inspect is an important decision for all clients. Material control and testing evaluation is often what makes or breaks the long term performance of a project. If long term performance is important, these services must be performed during the work to assure conformance with the specifications.

By entrusting the daily coordination of your construction project to LDG’s professional and experienced staff, the confidence in having a project successfully completed per the contract specifications is greatly enhanced.

LDG’s inspection personnel can provide full-time or limited on-site inspection services as follows:

  • Monitor activities to determine if work is proceeding in accordance with the contract documents.
  • Documentation of quantities and work progression.
  • Review test results for conformance to the specifications.
  • Review construction estimates.
  • Document the materials used in a project and their locations.
  • Monitor labor compliance, construction safety and equal opportunity regulations.
  • Prepare change orders as required.
  • Review as-built drawings.
  • Attend coordination meetings.
  • Provide appropriate project records at close of construction.
  • Effectively communicate project information to the client and contractor.
