Stefanie J. English, PE

On February 10, 2009, Stefanie English, PE, of Larson Design Group (LDG), was appointed to the Uniform Construction Code (UCC) Review and Advisory Council. Stefanie was one of 19 members from various construction industry trades and professions appointed by Edward G. Rendell. Stefanie represents the Council as the licensed structural engineer. Her term runs through June 30, 2010.

On October 10, 2008 the Governor signed into law Act 106 of 2008 which amends the Pennsylvania Construction Code by establishing the Uniform Construction Code Review and Advisory Council. The Council is charged with making recommendations to the Governor, the General Assembly and the Department of Labor & Industry regarding proposed changes to Act 45 (The Pennsylvania Construction Code Act) and changes that appear in the International Codes enforceable under this act.

The UCC holds weekly meetings in Harrisburg that began in the beginning of March. At these meetings, the Council is primarily involved in deliberations on whether any changes in the latest triennial version of the International Codes should be excluded from adoption in Pennsylvania.
