Larson Design Group, a nationally emerging architectural, engineering and planning firm in Pittsburgh, with 10 offices in four states, has formed LDG Federal, a new business division, with the sole mission of providing U.S. federal government clients best-in-class services in the architecture, engineering, geospatial and construction services domains.

Led by David Martin, LDG’S Chief Operating Officer, LDG Federal initially has won defense and federal agency contracts to furnish multi-disciplinary architecture, building engineering, civil engineering and geospatial services directly for the federal government or partnering with construction contractors in a design-build delivery process. Martin formerly was with Michael Baker International as senior vice president and federal market manager and has more than 25 years of market experience executing projects worldwide.

LDG Federal’s current and recent projects include facilities for the U.S. Postal Service, the Army Corps of Engineers in the U.S. and internationally, the National Guard as well as the U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM). Its latest contract is with Korte Construction for a multi-disciplinary re-design of a postal facility in Miami.

“LDG’s success is predicated on our ability to seamlessly interject best commercial practices, innovative approaches, and technology applications to our government sector projects,” said Martin, who is based in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. “The federal government is the largest procurer of AE and professional services in the world. Our expansion in this market will fuel our strategy for growth nationally and provide exciting opportunities for our employee owners.”
