William Phillips and Brenda Nichols represented Larson Design Group on Thursday, February 23, as LDG was presented with the 1st Annual Business Health Award by Susquehanna Health President/CEO Steven P. Johnson.
This award was determined by a survey on Wellness Program Initiatives and Results which was obtained by the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented during a Chamber PM Exchange focusing on the new hospital tower and entrance plaza. LDG’s Human Resources Department was lauded for the development and implementation of a successful wellness program that incorporates transparency of health costs, awareness of health issues, education and employee activity all in an effort to improve employee health, knowledge and cost control.
“It is great to see our program recognized. It was important for us to develop a program that educates, creates activity and helps our employees to understand their personal health as well as understand the value of healthcare. If our program helps one employee become more active, one employee learn about their personal health, and one employee understand the value of our healthcare dollars then we have been successful in meeting our original goals. Nothing is more important than one’s own health and creating a program that make us more cognizant of it and to ultimately improve it is the best kind of recognition we could ask for,” said William Phillips, SPHR, VP of Human Resources.
