David Gunsallus II, PE has been promoted to companywide director of bridge design for Larson Design Group, a nationally emerging architecture, engineering and survey firm with offices in four states.
Previously LDG’s regional director of bridge design, with 23 years of experience, Gunsallus has led bridge design projects for clients across the Commonwealth including the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Engineering District 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and many municipalities such as Bradford, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Tioga, Union and Schuylkill Counties. His projects include the award-winning Promised Land State Park dam and bridge, numerous covered bridge rehabilitations and PennDOT’s $3.9 million Brush Run Bridge. In his new role, Gunsallus will lead a team of 25 professionals.
“Dave has been instrumental in the development of our project consistency standards, which have led to a consistent product across our division even as we expand with new offices and staff,” said Stevan Wilver, vice president of transportation for LDG. “His ability to simplify complicated projects for clients made him a natural choice to lead the division.”
Gunsallus is a 1995 graduate of Penn State University, where he attained a bachelor of science in structural design and construction engineering technology. He’s a Certified Bridge Safety Inspector and a 2003 graduate of Leadership Clinton County.
