PA Rapid Bridge Replacement Project P3
As part of the Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners team and amongst the 11 Pennsylvania-based subcontractors awarded work, LDG was selected for the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project P3. The 28-year, $899 million contract consists of replacing 558 bridges across Pennsylvania.
This project is the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s first public-private partnership project that was authorized by the passage of Act 89.
LDG was responsible for 55 bridges throughout the state. Responsibilities include survey, bridge and roadway design, environmental permitting, right-of-way plan development, bridge safety inspections (NBIS), construction services, and construction inspection. This project required a unique delivery process other than the normal way of doing business through a traditional design-bid-build project. A programmatic approach that standardized designs and processes was developed to deliver the design and construction documents for all of the bridges in two years.
As with any project, we discovered lessons learned and developed best practices for working on a public-private partnership P3 project. To view our P3 Best Practices Guide, please fill out the form below.
