Our History

Larson Design Group began with an architect, engineer, and surveyor, each with a dream to create a firm that focused on solutions that could sustain and benefit the communities it served.

1986

Ken Larson retires from PennDOT and teams up with Hunt Engineers as they merge with Ferrell Engineering & Surveying to start an office in central Pennsylvania.

Hunt Engineer's Williamsport office merges with John Hoffman Architects to create the premier architecture, engineering, and surveying firm in the region.

1993

The office grows to over 60 staff and employees acquire ownership through a 100% stock buyout. Larson Design Group is officially born with Ken Larson as president.

1996

LDG grows to 125 employees and designs its new headquarters’ at Water Tower Square, an old factory with a rich history. This adaptive reuse project uses an innovative GeoExchange system for highly efficient heating and cooling.

2001

LDG established its ESOP, giving all employees the opportunity to become employee-owners.

2005

After becoming President in 2000, Keith Kuzio becomes CEO of Larson Design Group.

2006

The firm opens an office in Corning New York’s Gaffer District, returning to the city of our roots. LDG initiates a rebranding initiative to position the firm for growth in new markets and geographies.

2008

LDG establishes a presence in south central Pennsylvania, leading to our Bethel and Lititz offices.
