We Are Community Focused

LDG employees participate in the 2010 Adopt-A-Highway program along I-180, outside our Williamsport, Pennsylvania headquarters.

One of Larson Design Group’s core values is Stewardship.  Making the areas around us a better place to live involves more than good design. It involves good relationships, hard work, and dedication to the community. From inception, we have focused on design solutions that can sustain and benefit our communities. Our employees are committed to their communities through thousands of hours donated to organizations like the American Red Cross, the United Way, and the American Cancer Society.

Doing Our Part

“Initially, I volunteered to help with CANstruction® because I thought it was a cool project, but it turned out to be so much more.  Witnessing the project in progress and how a team of very talented individuals worked together on their own time to find solutions to obstacles and complete the project was amazing.  Also, it was great to see the support of all the employees of LDG participating in fund-raising events.  Knowing that our efforts and donations helped over 400 local families in need was the icing on the cake.  I have never worked for a company that has such a desire to help others and encourages their employees to do so – it is truly refreshing and so important in today’s society.”

“Growing up on a small family farm and being outside a lot I have a great appreciation for our environment and its people.  If I’m walking or running along the road, why not pick up trash?  If I’m growing produce in the garden, why not give what I can to others who need food?  If I’m healthy, why not give blood so that others can live?”
- Michelle Farnham  Field Technician

“Education is clearly the key to success in today’s world.  Mentoring helps students open their minds and gives them a better understanding and appreciation of the A/E industry.  It goes beyond just explaining the daily tasks and responsibilities of a professional, but the positive impact they can have on both the community and environment through thoughtful and creative design.  Sometimes showing a student a little bit of our world creates that spark of interest and drive to succeed.”

“As the cubmaster for our local pack, I have been able to work with a group of young boys who in some cases come from difficult home situations and given them access to experiences and knowledge that they would have not otherwise been exposed to.  For Little League, I have donated surveying services and have assisted them in getting projects permitted through the local municipality.  By donating my services, they have saved a substantial amount of money that can now be used to fund other programs within the league.”
- Andy Keister  Director of Site Engineering

“Helping others is just as rewarding to the giver as it is to the receiver.  And I truly think we actually help ourselves as well.  These experiences have broadened my awareness, helped me to meet people that I never would have had the opportunity to cross paths with, and educated me in areas that I had no knowledge.”

“I give back to the community musically.  Last Call combines the musical talent of 7 musicians to bring some of the best Rock and Roll music covers to this area, to support cancer fundraising, honor and ease the passing of somebody’s loved one, and other reasons.”
