LDG Employee Receives Volunteer of the Year Award from Williamsport YWCA
Larson Design Group’s Lawrence Lee Huber, AIA, NCARB, CSI, Project Manager – Brand Architecture, has been honored with the Blanche Smink Volunteer of the Year Award from the Williamsport YWCA.
Huber played a critical role in the YWCA’s recent renovations and energy efficiency initiatives which included a solar hot water system, improved gymnasium lighting, additional insulation, and highly efficient windows and doors. Learn more about the Williamsport YWCA’s Solar Energy Project.
“It is a great honor for me to be recognized by such an organization as the YWCA who has so many volunteers dedicating many hours to the furtherance of the values and mission of the YWCA. I wish to say thank you for the recognition. I believe in their mission and look forward to many more years working with the YWCA and using my Architectural talents on their behalf,” said Huber.

Blanche Smink (1907-1993) was a YWCA volunteer for over fifty years. She was the President of the agency several times and served on the Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees and the Finance Committee. She was an avid fundraiser, and ran the YWCA Trip Program. Blanche’s lifelong commitment to the YWCA helped the agency stand firm, even in the most difficult times. Nominations are being sought for this award to honor current YWCA volunteers whom demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to our Mission.
