Larson Design Group Ranked by Architectural Record as One of the Top 250 Firms
Larson Design Group (LDG) has been ranked among the Top 250 Firms by Architectural Record for overall performance. Companies included in this list are ranked according to revenue for architectural services performed in 2009 in millions of dollars. The list is compiled from a survey conducted for ENR’s annual Top 500 Design Firms Sourcebook. Earlier this year, LDG was ranked number 437 on ENR’s Top 500 Firms list for 2010.
“We are pleased to receive this recognition,” said Keith Kuzio, P.E., President and CEO of LDG. “It would not be possible to achieve these results without the dedicated efforts of our employee owners and the trust and confidence that our clients place in Larson Architectural Group.”
LDG’s architectural staff is focused on providing innovative, sustainable solutions to meet clients’ needs.
Sustainable Design at LDG.
Their staff includes multi-disciplined LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professionals (APs) who understand the principles involved in sustainable design. The LEED Green Building Rating System is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Members of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) represent all segments of the building industry developed LEED and continue to contribute to its evolution. Staff in every discipline at LDG offers clients access to sustainable solutions for all projects. Sustainable solutions readily offset inefficient methods and are more easily attainable than they may seem. Everyone has heard of “going green.” Yet green doesn’t necessarily mean expensive, or out of reach. It just takes commitment to change and a little bit of creativity.
“We at LDG believe that sustainable design can be elegantly simple and yet still meet the needs of the owner, while providing a structure that is environmentally integrated with the site and without additional undue costs.” We work to meet the owner’s sustainable design goals, said Lawrence Lee Huber, Architect.
Looking to construct a new, more sustainable office facility at their Sabinsville, PA location, Dominion, one of the nation’s largest producers and transporters of energy, asked LDG to design a LEED® certified building. The Dominion office building is currently registered with the certification goal of LEED gold. The new Dominion office facility features numerous sustainable measures that enhance productivity while lessening its environmental impact, such as natural daylighting, triple-pane operable windows, and cellulose insulation made from recycled newspaper. The plumbing fixtures lower the building’s water use by 46% over a standard office building, while highly efficient HVAC and lighting systems contribute to an energy savings of 25%. Low-VOC finishes provide an aesthetic comfort on the inside, while recycled stone veneer and siding beautify the exterior. To learn more about this project click here.
